Privacy

This page says what we collect when you sign the petition or send a story, who can see it, and how to have it deleted.

If you sign the petition

We store your full name, email address, city or country (if you give one), how you want your name shown, whether you want updates, and the time you signed. We use your email only to limit each address to one signature. We do not check who you are. We never publish your email.

If you choose "Keep my name hidden", your name is still stored. It is kept out of any list of signers we publish. We have not published a list yet. If we do, it will show your name only the way you chose.

If you send a story

We store the text you write, your email if you add one, whether you asked to stay anonymous, and the time you sent it. Sending a story does not give us permission to publish it. We publish only with your approval. If you leave no email we cannot ask you, so we will not publish it.

What else happens when you use the site

Who processes your data

Vercel hosts the site and may log technical details of each visit, such as your internet address. Upstash runs the database that holds signatures and stories. Both are companies outside Iraq, and your data is processed on their servers.

Who can see it

Only the site owner can read signatures and stories. They are stored in a private database that needs a password and is not open to anyone else.

How long we keep it

We keep signatures and stories for one year, then delete them. You can ask us to delete yours sooner.

Delete your data or ask a question

Write to ayaaqeelfareeq@gmail.com. Tell us the email address you used and we will find and delete your signature or story.

Your safety

Use a private browser window if your device is shared. The Quick exit button at the bottom of every page leaves this site at once and removes it from the back button.
